Islamophobia in catalonia

What

IS

Islamophobia?

Islamophobia is expressed hate towards the Muslim faith or expressions of muslimness. This social movement is on the rise in the northern region of Spain, known as Catalonia. Moroccan immigrants have been migrating to this region in search of employment and proximity to the French border. Those in small town Catalonia are refuting the settlement of Muslims by denying them proper Mosque establishment within new communities. They are doing so on the basis of Hispanidad: the belief that those within Spain must be of Spanish and Catholic descent. Overall, Muslims are not being treated fairly due to unnecessary obstacles preventing the construction of proper worshipping spaces.
